On September 16, Jefferson Elementary celebrated their first Surprise Attendance Day. This is a new tradition the school was excited to introduce during the 2026–2027 school year.
On Surprise Attendance Day, every student in attendance received one chance to "Soak the Principal." At 2:00 p.m., classes went outside and kids each got a chance to throw a ball at a target. If they hit the target, water dropped on Principal VanDuren’s head. Even the teachers got a chance!
Throughout the 2026–2027 school year, Mrs. VanDuren will randomly select dates for future Surprise Attendance Days. Jefferson Raiders—make sure you come to school every day! You never know when the next Surprise Attendance Day will be announced—or what exciting new activity will be planned.
