MLK Elementary Students Visit Insight Dairy

Students at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary in Mrs. Grimes and Miss DelGrego’s second-grade classes and Mrs. Oeinck’s class recently visited Insight Dairy in Little Falls for an educational trip that gave them an inside look at how a local dairy farm operates.

During their visit, they saw how the cows are fed and cared for and watched the milking process. They also followed the journey of the milk from the milking machines to the pasteurizer and eventually onto trucks.

The classes toured the farm and met some of its youngest residents. They especially enjoyed getting to pet baby cows! Students also discovered an impressive fact about Insight Dairy: the farm is home to approximately 2,900 cows!

The visit gave students a hands-on look at the daily operations of a local dairy farm and helped them connect what they see in the classroom to a business right in their own backyard.

A special thank you to Insight Dairy for welcoming our students and providing such a memorable experience!
