On Thursday, some of our fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students visited the Salmon River Fish Hatchery in Altmar, NY. Students learned about the life cycles of salmon and trout and saw how fish are raised before being released into New York waterways.
The trip provided an opportunity to connect classroom science lessons to the real world. Students explored topics such as habitats, ecosystems and conservation while observing fish at different stages of growth. It was a fun and educational experience that helped students better understand the importance of protecting our natural resources.
A big thank-you to our wonderful chaperones for joining us on this trip and helping make it such a memorable experience for our students!
